Quick answer: Start at the SBS-ID self-service portal to reset a forgotten password or unlock your account. If you cannot complete self-service recovery, request account-access help.
Choose the problem you are having
| Your situation | Next step |
|---|---|
| I have not set up my SBS-ID yet | Use your onboarding information and follow How do I Enroll in SBS-ID? |
| I forgot my password | Open SBS-ID self-service and choose the password-reset option. Follow the verification steps offered for your account. |
| My account is locked | Use the account-unlock option in SBS-ID self-service. Avoid repeatedly guessing your password. |
| I cannot use my recovery method, or self-service fails | Use the password reset request form and describe where you are blocked. |
| Only one app or printer rejects my sign-in | Tell Technology Services which service fails and whether SBS-ID itself works. For a Mac print queue, see Hold for Authentication. |
Before you try again
Check that you are using the correct account. SBS-ID accepts your SBS email address or shorter SBS username; individual services may ask for a particular format. See What is SBS-ID? for the account basics.
Open the portal directly using the link above. Do not enter your password or a verification code into an unexpected page reached from a suspicious message.
What to include in an access request
- Your SBS-ID or SBS email address, as requested by the form.
- An email address where you can receive the team's reply.
- The service you are trying to use and the exact error message.
- Whether you tried password reset or account unlock, and which step failed.
Never send a password or code. Keep passwords, one-time sign-in codes, recovery codes, and recovery-question answers out of tickets and screenshots.
After access is restored
Review your recovery information using the SBS-ID enrollment guide. Do not make your SBS email your only recovery address: you may be unable to open that mailbox when your SBS-ID is locked.
