Try this first: Retry the print job and enter your SBS-ID credentials, rather than your Mac login password.

What does “Hold for Authentication” mean?

The print job is paused because the printer could not authenticate it. An incorrect or previously saved username or password can cause this message.

If you see this message when printing with Mobility Print

BearPrint Mobility Print uses your SBS-ID credentials. In the print queue, use the refresh/retry button to enter them again. If incorrect credentials caused the problem, the job should continue.

Try these steps first

  1. Retry with SBS-ID. Enter your SBS-ID username and password when prompted. If you have forgotten your password or your account is locked, follow SBS-ID password and account-access help.
  2. Check the saved printer credential only if you can identify it. Open Keychain Access from Applications and find the entry for the affected print queue. Remove only that printer entry, cancel the paused print job, and try printing again. Do not delete an entire keychain or unrelated passwords. If you are unsure which entry is correct, stop here and request help.
  3. Check the result. If the job still does not print, submit a support request. Include the printer/queue name, your Mac version, the error, and which steps you tried.

Do not include your password or sign-in codes in the request or screenshot.
