Start with a few safe checks. These steps help narrow down a connection problem. If you are connecting to school Wi-Fi for the first time or need the approved network details, ask Tech Services for the current instructions.
Try these quick checks
- Make sure Wi-Fi is turned on and airplane mode is off.
- Check that your device is using the school network you normally connect to. Do not join an unfamiliar network just because its name looks similar.
- Try another website or app. If only one service fails, the Wi-Fi connection may still be working.
- When it is safe to interrupt your connection, turn Wi-Fi off and back on. Save your work before restarting the device if the problem continues.
Leave school network equipment and managed settings alone. Do not reset access points or routers, remove school configuration profiles, or turn off security settings to troubleshoot.
Narrow it down
| What you notice | What to tell Tech Services |
|---|---|
| Only your device is affected | The device type, operating system, network name shown, and any error message. |
| Several people are affected in one area | The building or room, when the issue started, and whether other nearby devices have the same problem. |
| One website or app fails while others work | The name of that service and the exact error. This may be a service or account issue. |
