For Parents/Guardians

Initial setup:

1. Go to gravitas.instructure.com
2. When you see the "Canvas Login" page, select "For Parents & Guardians"
   
3. Select "Parent of a Canvas user? Create an account" in the top right corner.
   

4. Enter your information as prompted to create your account
   
   You will need a student pairing code, this is what ties your account to a student's.  The code is provided by the students, the instructions on how they generate their code is below.

   Note

   1. Each generated code is single use, so if multiple people would like to observe the same student; they will have to generate more than one code.

   2. You are only able to enter one code here, if you want to observe multiple students - you can set that up later as noted below.

Adding additional students:

1. Once you are logged into your account: Click the "Account tab" in the navigation bar on the left of the screen, then click "Observing"
   

2. From here you can add additional students via pairing code, as well as manage students you are observing.

For Students

Generating your code:

1. In Canvas: Click the "Account tab" in the navigation bar on the left of the screen, then click "settings"
   
2. On the right side of the screen click "Pair with Observer" 
   

3. From here you will see a generated Pairing Code to share with your parents/guardians.
   

   Note

   1. Each generated code is single use.  If you are pairing with multiple people, you will need to generate multiple codes.  Only one code is active at a time - generate a second code only after the first has been redeemed.

   2.Codes are case sensitive.
